Measurement help needed

Thread Starter
Sorry to intrude on you all. I'm currently knitting a sweater/cardigan for the wee one due in Dec. The pattern is supposed to be for 0-6 months but I've tweaked it a bit. The body on this sucker is LONG. Like more 6 months and older than 0-6 months. Can someone measure their babe for me? I have somewhat smaller babes (6 lb 10 ounce and 6 lb 13 ounce) so ideally I'd like measurements from someone similar. I need from the bottom of the back of the neck to where you would want the bottom to sit. I was thinking 6-6.5 inches but even that seems long. My kids are short! There's about a 5 inch difference between my 4 year old and 1.5 year old.

Thanks! I know you all are busy with newborns so I understand if no one wants to help.

Same here... I've been knitting things for my impending LO and I have no idea if they'll fit right or not. Hopefully I'll have an infant soon to measure! Try doing a Google search, too; in my searching for size charts for babies I found this site. If you scroll down it has some measurements of various baby sizes, but unfortunately it doesn't have exactly the measurement you're looking for, I don't think. Still, it's a starting point...

well my baby is on the outside but likley bigger than what you're wanting. I was having the same prob knitting things while preg too. Personallly i'd go with what seems kinda bigger baby can always grow into it but if its to small, then you put in the work for something you cant use.... like the dress i made for comng home from the hospital i usually have skinny babies!

hope someone can help!

Well my baby was big but only 20.5 inches long so I measured him and on length it was 6 inches.
