That's a good question! I'm having trouble finding it as well. I do have one work book with pages for each letter and I copy them for my youngest (5 yrs old)to practice, but the size is too large for my older daughter (first grader).

Yeah, I found one in the curriculum of the college library in my town. Free to use. Although he really starts K next year and I haven't concentrated on writing neatness. Just making the letter correctly for now.

I got mine from a curriculum exchange so not sure if it is still being sold.

I got mine from a thrift store. The first was a newer fill-in-the-blank book. Our current one is an old school copy, from back when workbooks were not to be written in, lol.

Anyhow, it's this series here Scott, Foresman and Company D'Nealian Handwriting.

There are printables online that you can make or just print out if the book prices become too high. I really like this set, though. Each day has 2-4 letter or stroke practice and an activity. Towards the end they get creative practice with writing poems, letters, invitations, applications..ds likes the series a lot.

Rainbow Resource Center carries it, or used to. They have a website and once you order you can get their 1000 page catalog in your mailbox....They have every homeschool resource you can think of!

What about workbooks for teaching cursive writing?

Ink for my printer isn't cheap- and if I need to print out 52 pages (one for each letter, upper and lower case) then it's probably cheaper to purchase a workbook in the first place. DD2 did fine with just printing out the alphabet (2 pages total) and then practicing with random sentences (such as "Betty buys big bras." or "Donna does drugs daily.") or copying words from a book (she's currently working on Flat Stanley.)

But, she's 13 and reviewing skills that were never properly learned "at the right time" because she had such a horrible experience in school during 3rd grade. Ds is going to need a LOT more repetition, and to move a lot more slowly, to aquire the same skills. I want to teach this to him during 3rd grade so that he won't be "behind" on handwriting if he ends up back in school for 4th grade.

The Scott, Foresman and Co series starts cursive in book 3. They're non-consumable so you can use it them with more than one child.
