CoreCommoerce looks interesting, I'm going to have to poke around to see how hard they are to integrate a web design onto.

Let us know what you find out. I'm going to call them today to verify that I will be able to not only print USPS labels but that the labels will include the postage. I also need to verify this is going to be relatively easy to integrate. That's where I'm not as knowledgeable though. I'll post later with the answers I get.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want the labels to show the postage? I don't charge s/h fees so I don't feel the need to hide the postage costs, but OTOH I've never felt impelled to let customers know what I'm paying, either.

I've been using Paypal as my cc/payments processor and doing all my shipping through them, through multi-order shipping, which I love -- I have a zillion presets set up so I can just choose "Ergo" or "Butterfly" or "flat rate" or whatever.

Sorry, I said that wrong...I don't want them to show postage...I want to be able to purchase the postage online, slap the label on and use carrier pick up. Right now that means retyping everything into USPS. I need to look into the Paypal option although I may move away from Paypal for processing payments so I'd like to find software that either interfaces with USPS (and my USPS account) directly or interfaces with Endicia or Stamps.com to accomplish the same thing.

I talked to CoreCommerce this morning. They won't do the postage part but he's getting me a quote on having the code altered to interface with Stamps.com.

Carrin...thanks for the PM! Between the three of us, we should be able to figure this stuff out

Do you not have USPS postage processing through Paypal? Is there a button that says multiorder shipping on your homepage? It's really awesome. I have a Brother thermal printer that I use to print adhesive labels and it saves sooooo much time. I also like that I don't have to integrate with/pay for another service like Endicia.

I so want a thermal printer! Just took 4 HP cartridges in for refill today...what a PITA!

This is on their blog as an included feature: "Stamps.com CSV Export – This export is geared for stamps.com. It contains certain fields for easier integration into Stamps.com".

Is that what you want, or something different?

That should work. I wonder why he didn't mention that this morning? Sigh. Banging my head against the wall over here! Thank you for finding that!!!!

OK, so looks like it's Corecommerce for me. I can either have someone import my products for me, or do it myself with the tech support. I'm a little freaked out about doing it myself, but the sales guy assures me that I will be able to do it.

YIKES!!!!

We're going with either CC or Digishop too. I just need DH (aka Webmaster) to go over the hosting requirements so I can calculate costs and decide which one is better for us. Our websites are going to look so nice and be so much easier to use :

I like that w/Corecommerce, you get free support and automatic upgrades. I like that Digishop is customizable, but feel that I like the freedoms that Corecommerce give me.

You're lucky your dh is techy!

No kidding! We have a serious division of labor going on around here and it works great. Leave me free to worry about a host of other issues.

WTH I was subscribed to this thread but didn't get any new messages!? So I'm caught up now!!

I currently use Paypal as a shopping cart with Big Cartel. The order shipping is fast easy and really convenient. However, I do want to move away from paypal and I need a bigger site anyway.

I think endicia.com and stamps.com are supposed to be good options. You can also get some API thing from USPS to integrate into your site. I have no clue about the tech details on that but might be an option to consider.

carrin- have you considered signing up for the free trial and uploading a couple of products to see how easy it is?

Yep, I'm about to do that right now.

It was funny. I was still entering my cc info, and one of the sales guys called me on the phone. He's like "just wanted to know if you have any questions". I said "uh, no, I just talked to you a couple of hours ago". LOL Seems that they are on the ball at least.

I think I'm going to call up tech support and have them walk me through importing my items. If I mess up too badly, I can always have it deleted and start over again eh?

This video link shows which files to edit to make manual changes to a template: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2zh1uhy82I So you can probably insert/wrap your original design into it to make it work. Similar to what you might do with CubeCart etc.
I'm 99% sure that I'm going to switch over to Digishop instead of Cubecart. Digishop is supposed to be more "robust" and gives you full access to your coding.

I also like that I can still use Watersweb (and thus, Cpanel), and will have access to my Awstats. I love Awstats, and really didn't want to have to do Google Analytics. I feel like Google Analytics is probably made public. I know it's not a big deal, but I just don't want my store's stats to be shared w/other companies.

Plus, the cost....at $69/month for Corecommerce, I could have Digishop paid off in 10 months.

My designer, Kayla of Little Fish, is looking into DigiShop for me. You might want to talk to her if you are looking for design/transfer/hosting. She's great!
