Is White King the same as Calgon?

I can't find Calgon anywhere but the stores around here carry powdered water softener called White King. I bought some because we are having major ammonia and smelly issues with DS fuzzibunz and we have hard water. I soaked them in bleach AND the White King twice and washed them with the White King twice with extra rinses and when I took them out of the dryer they STILL smelled like boiled hot dogs. Any suggestions? The ammonia smell is better, but they don't smell clean when they come out of the dryer. I am so frustrated and feel like I am putting dirty diapers on my son. What else can I do?

Anybody???

Let me rephrase my main question: how do you strip diapers using Calgon (assuming the White King I bought is equivalent)? And how do you use Calgon ongoing...do you add it to every wash?
