is there a trick for peeling garbanzo beans

i am making hummus from scratch and it tastes so much better when i peel the beans but they are such a pita to peel. is it easier to peel cooked beans or raw? is there some trick i am missing?

Peel them cooked. Once they're cooked you should, for the most part, just be able to squeeze them a little off-center and have it slide right off.
