Diaper rash after using new detergent & wash cycle

My 2-year-old son's diapers were stinking bad from bacteria buildup, so I figured it was due to only using Maggie's Soap Nuts for several months now. I went out yesterday and bought some Bio-Kleen detergent powder and I also soaked them for half an hour in baking soda then used an extra high-temp long wash to make sure they got clean. They're smelling great now, but I noticed he has a mild rash on one leg when I changed him this morning and then just now I changed him again and he has a rash on his other leg as well What should I do?? Do you think a simple rinse cycle will help? Should I stop using the new detergent? I'm afraid if I stop then the bacteria buildup will happen again. Any and all advice is welcome...

I would say make sure all the suds are washed out and that there is no build up in the diapers. Also did you use vinegar to get all of the baking soda out?

What kind of diaper?

Next time you wash, check during the rinse cycle to see if there are bubbles. You might find you need more rinses (use hot if possible) to get the detergent out than you did with the soap nuts...
