What do I need for Baby?

I want to get to work making up some bath products for the LO on the way, but I was wondering what do I need? So far I only came up with Soap, Powder, and Nipple Cream. Are their some ingredients you should avoid (especially nipple cream)?

I have been making bath products for over ten years (I had a business selling for close to 6 years) but I never focused on Bath Care so I thought I would ask you Mom's. Especially on what I really need.

All I ever used on my little one was water to wash her and coconut oil for her cradle cap. And later Burt's Bees diaper cream and spay on detangler (Oyin Handmade). I used pure lanolin (Lansinoh) on my nipples.
So, I'd say make a good diaper cream (make sure it's compatible with cloth diapers if you use them) and a good light spray on conditioner.

I know other moms used more stuff, but this was just my experience.

Oh, as for baby powder, cornstarch is the typical alternative to talc, but if you have a little one with yeast/thrust issues, it's a really bad choice as corn starch feeds the yeast.

I use olive oil or coconut oil and homemade calendula/plaintain salve on baby. Oatmeal in a sock for baths...later maybe some oatmeal or olive oil soap (handmade by a dear friend).

I use lanolin on nipples...

nothing more...nothing less.

i use dr bronners baby (unscented castille soap) for baths occasionally. we have a pump that foams it up, good for washing but not a lot of soap.

lansinoh lanolin for nipples.

california babies spray on detangler solution (i'm sure you can make something equivilent)

other than that, just warm water on bottoms during changes and most of the time bath is also just warm water. i like the oatmeal idea...do you just through the oatmeal into the tub with the water? what does it do? does anykind of oatmeal work?

The only issue is I hate lanolin, or more to say my skin does not like it, so can anyone suggest alternatives? I tend to use a lot of Shea or Cocoa Butter for my creams but have access to other butters as well.

I put a handful of oatmeal in an old sock....once it get wet enough, you can squeeze the oatmeal juice out onto the skin. I use reg. oatmeal...I'm sure quick oats would be fine...not sure about steel cut.

I don't have experience, but shea or cocobutter (or coconut oil) should be okay. I'm not sure that they're as effective for nipples...you might have to apply it more often. Also, expressing milk and rubbing it into nipples after nursing is effective.

I have also successfully used coconut oil on my nipples. Coconut oil is also good for fighting thrush.

I only use three things. I've never used a nipple cream before.

Soap (not really necessary I used it with one kid and not the other).

Wipe solution. I use water, soap and almond oil.

Diaper salve/skin moisturizer. I use coconut oil infused with calendula.
