My baby is 4 months old now and I am losing TONS of hair!!!!! My other daughter is 6 years old and I can't remember if this is normal or not. I can pull 5 or 6 handfulls out in the shower. I have really thick hair luckily but, I wanted to double check that this is normal and how long do you all think it will last? Thanks so much! robyn

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Hair loss is normal because during pregnancy most of your hairs were in a growth phase and you lost less hair than usual, and now they are going back to a normal state with the "extra" hair from pregnancy shedding. It should only last a month or two and sort of regulate itself. If it keeps up longer than that, some might advise you to seek medical advice, as it could be thyroid-related. But some temporary hair loss a few months following pregnancy is totally normal.

it happens to me about 5 months pp. it always bums me out. i took really good care of nyself this pregnancy so i wonder if i will loose a little less. I know people always say it's b/c you dont loose much when you're pregnant, but I always end up with less hair PP than I started out with before the pregnancy and it doesn't come back. so my guess it's the hormonal hair thing and a nutritional thing for some people.
