I'm 'firing' my dr. today!!!!

WooHoo!!!! Dh and I have found a mw I like. He hasn't had a chance to meet her yet but trusts me on my decision. We've discussed everything we can think of. We even told a couple people that a homebirth is our goal. Dh is still a little bit scared/nervous but willing to go through with this.

And today I'm telling the dr. I'm transfering to a mw for the rest of this pregnancy. I want to tell him so he doesn't think I just fell off the earth. Also I think if he were more flexible I wouldn't be transfering. Either way, I'm soooooo excited!!! Now it all seems sooo real. I'm having a baby.....at HOME!!!!

Aww Helen that's wonderful. I too switched to (a birth center) midwife for my third pregnancy, and it was wonderful. I told my md exactly why i was switching, so that maybe she learn something from the experience... Good luck with your new provider!!!

I switched from an OB to a midwife at 30 weeks and it was by far the best decision I ever made for this pregnancy. Good for you!

And a nice benefit to your choice--besides a healthier, happier birth for all involved--is the Customer Feedback your doc is getting...you are letting him know that you're not interested in what he's selling. No one likes to loose a customer!

That's awesome! And don't apologize -- it is always a very cool and very happy thing when you figure out what is best for you and are able to make it happen!
