More Ant Questions

I have ants attaching the stem of my largest broccoli plant. So far they have eaten quite a bit of the stem, but the plant looks OK. I read on previous posts about using cinnamon and coffee grounds. The cinnamon works well for about 18 hrs, then they come back. I have coffee grounds spread around the base of the plant and that doesn't seem to be stopping them.

Any other ideas? It's heartbreaking to see my started from seed plant under attack!

Are the ants actually eating the broccoli or are the ants feeding on aphids or another bug that is actually eating your broccoli?
