is there a bar soap my baby can eat?

Seriously, he might even bite chunks out of it. He loves to play with bar soap but the temptation to teethe on it is just too great, and he can't help putting it in his mouth. We've been using weleda goop for that reason, but I know he'd enjoy bath time and hand washing so much more if he could indulge in the pleasure of a silly slippery bar of soap.

Obviously, a good-tasting bar of soap would NOT be helpful here, but I'd like something that does nothing worse than cause a little diarrhea, if possible.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

I'm not sure. Maybe a Castille soap which is mostly olive oil would be ok. Or I might just try introducing a few interesting and safe teethers and keep the soap out of reach for awhile.

I wouldn't use soap on a baby at all, but maybe a washcloth filled with oatmeal would work. I used that on my kids when they had dry skin, and it might be nice to chew on.

Mother Mabels has soaps that wouldn't hurt babe to naw on a bit.

I'd find him some toy to float around and chew on instead. Hmm. I'm not so sure I'd want my kids eating soap, but guaranteed, if he did try to eat it, he wouldn't do it twice.

Ivory soap is pretty gentle and NOT tasty. But it can be too drying on sensitive skin, and I agree with the others that floating teethers are probably a safer bet.
