I have tomato plants that have leaves turning brown a the bottom. Anyone know what could be causing this?

you know i have some that are doing this too. they are ones i transplanted into peet pots from cells about a month ago. im planning on planting them outside in the next few days....the ones that are still in cells are all green and fine....its not like that too dry yellowing color, but a darker brown and maybe even a slight spotting? i wondered if i was watering those too much, they were drying out quickly a few weeks back when it started getting really warm here so i started keeping an inch or so of water in the tray at all times....all my plants are living outside at this point too if that matters. i have only had to take them in a couple times in the last 3 weeks.

im a newbie so i will be interested to see if anyone has any advice!! :
