Powder...

Thread Starter
Just wondering about the safety of powder. My dd had a really bad rash, and I have tried everything, and finally got some Goldbond Baby Powder. Of course, now I'm reading about breathing issues, cervical cancer and even ovarian cancer caused by powders. Now, are these things just from the TALC in powder? I really don't want to endanger my daughters health, just because I like this powder...

From what I understand, it's the talc that's harmful. Plain cornstarch is the best thing to use, but I use burt's bees powder that's made from cornstarch. Personally, I love powder...keeps everything nice and dry. But many people avoid it. I put it in my hand and apply it that way, I don't sprinkly it directly on. Seems to keep the powder particles contained.
