My Birth Story as Promised! - Kaytlyn Elizabeth Marie

My birth story as promised:

Kaytlyn Elizabeth Marie
Due Date: June 30th
Birth Date: May 11th
Weight : 4 lbs 3 oz
Length: 17 3/4"


May 9th I had my baby shower. All was ok. (Saturday May 2nd, I had a touch of spotting, but nothing I was running to dr. about. ) I live an hour North of where I work. I got to work at my usual time of 7:30 am.

I had a good 3 hours of work in and was at my desk when I had the feeling of my period starting. A slight cramp, a trickle of fluid and a feeling of a clot.

I ran to the washroom and out came A LOT of bright red blood.

I grabbed a co-worker and we went straight to the local hospital (not the one I was supposed to register at).

It was now after 11.

They hooked me up to the baby's heartbeat monitor and another band to measure contractions.

I went for an ultrasound at 2:30 pm to see if they could find out why or where I was bleeding from. Ultrasound showed nothing.

Dr. did an internal and discovered I was 1 cm dilated and was having contractions every few mins.

They waited an hour to see if i dilated further.

I was 2 cms and my cervix was paper thin.

Dr set me up for an emergency c-section as the baby was also breech.

At 6:57 pm my little pricess was born !

i hope she grows strong and comes home soon. lilah came home after 7 weeks in the nicu- we felt emotionally bankrupt. it does get better, but it is exhausting.
