Cheap stash for twins?

So I clothed my dd but ruined half her nb stash (long story). Her is what I have already

4 nb covers/ 5 nb woolies
3 preemie pfs
18 infant pfs
3 small wraps
10 doublers
6 small/med fitteds(labeled small but didn't fit my dd well until she was 4 mos)
3 Bum Genius o/s

I planning to use disposables initially because I know I will get them as gifts but since these babies maybe pretty small (dd a singleton born at 40 weeks was 6 pounds 5 ounces) I figure I will still need the nb sizes. I remember even the preemie prfs seemed huge on dd at first. I am thinking I may be able to use either mampads or doublers as nb dipes.

So what else do you think I need? I want to do laundry every 3 days.
I was planning on getting 24-36 more prefolds and 9 more small wraps/covers.

Hi! Just a thought, but you'll need ALOT of diapers if you want to wash every 3 days with twins. I had two in diapers when DS was a newborn and DD was 20 months old and by the end of the second day we almost had two many diapers to fit into our washing machine between the two kids. We wouldn't have been able to go 3 days i think. So...just an fyi...with twins, i'm not sure you'll be able to go every 3 days.

As far as diapers -- if you are expecting small babies -- i do recommend the preemie prefolds. They are cheap and can be used as great doublers later on so you definitely get your money's worth. I would plan on 28-36 diapers per baby, but again...i'm just not sure its realistic to plan on every three days.

I think you are right about the washing thing. I will probably have to wash every other day. I remember the preemie pfs were still a bit big on my dd so I am wondering what to use if they are truely premature and very tiny...I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Ditto the laundry thing. We have #2 coming in Aug and I'm pretty sure that with 2 in dipes I'll have to wash nearly every day just because I can't fit much more in my washer.

For two days with one nb, I plan to have at least 30 dipes, nb pf's and fitteds, and 6-7 covers, then a few aio's for when I can't think straight. So I'd guess for twins, that number might last you one day! You probably do want to get more premie pf's and premie covers. I think Proraps have a premie size, I can't remember who else does. I like Thirsties, but their xs starts at 6 lbs, so if your girls are pretty small, those might be too big.

As far as the preemie prefolds go...they are pretty small, but if they are actual preemies and in the NICU, the NICU may have requirements about what you can use on the babies while they are in there, and by the time you get the babies home, then they would be fitting.
