Swaddlebees One Size

I'm having a new baby in January and will need some newborn/small dipes. I'll probably skip newborn sized dipes because my babes seem to be born big enough for most smalls. I'm hoping I won't need many larger sized dipes. Right now I have plenty of mediums and larges for my almost 2yo and, who knows, maybe he'll be out of dipes by the time this baby is born.

In looking around I noticed that Swaddlebees now has one size fitted dipes. I have several Swaddlebees and really like them. I've had a little trouble with the AIOs wicking but the fitteds are great, super-absorbent. I've tried a few different one-size dipes before and didn't like them much. They didn't fit my newborns well and I had a hard time trying to figure out how to resize them. So, has anyone tried the Swaddlebees on a newborn? If so, what did you think?

this may not be excatly what you're asking but...
i got some swaddlebees aio for ds2. however i got the mini ones which he grew out of super quick so i sent the majority back to get the regular aio one size. i'm still waiting so in the meantime i'm using mother-ease one size ones that i use w/ ds1. those are definitely bulky and need a cover. i also have one swaddlebees hemp fitted that also need a cover and has a different type of insert. its a medium and fits now but would have probably been to big for the newborn stage. however i really like it. great fit between the legs absorbent etc. the only down side would be that you would have to buy more dipes in order to have enough smalls the medium then larges....which is originally why i choose the one size. my biggest gripe with swaddlebees aio is that they kept leaking (i think from the cotton velour being so new) and now that i've washed the inserts enough one corner is coming apart on just about every single one.

I just got a Swaddlebees OS. I recently posted about fitted OS dipes and the overwhelming majority of posters recommended Mother-Ease. There was one vote each for Tiny Tush, Muttaqin, b4s, and Bella Bottoms.

I have no closure Little Beetles that I pretend are one size... it is a bit outrageous on my 3 month old... but lots of growing room on DD. Still, I really feel that you get the best fit with a snappi... and I love their organic cotton velour.

As for the Swaddlebees OS- I have only used it once on DD and once on my recently newborn. It fits them both. And it could get considerably smaller, so I think it would fit a newborn. They claim the larger of the two snap in soakers could be used as a newborn contour... I am not convinced. I am used to Kissaluvs contours and they are considerably more substantial than the snap in soaker that comes with the Swaddlebees OS ! There is room for my daughter to grow, that is for sure. But the rise seems low to me. This didn't actually matter. And it is really trim! For the 12 week old, well maybe he's thirteen now, there was a lot of fabric above where it matters. And the rise seemed low too. The fabric is lovely, though not as soft as the Little Beetles. But the hemp is absorbent! I like it so far. I am thinking about getting more. But have to try it out for several more changes.

Incidentally, I am also trying out the Baby Greens Growing Greens OS. I like fitted with a wool soaker and want to expand my stash. I have to say though, that my toddler sized Little Beetles with no closure might just act like that. But the big advantage of the Swaddlebees in that area is the narrow crotch. I think it is more comfortable. My toddler claims to have pooped as soon as she wets if there is an extra soaker in the Little Beetles! She didn't make this claim in the Swaddlebees OS.

Feel free to PM me if you want more explicit details!

Thanks. I didn't notice that Swaddlebees made OS AIOs. I don't like the AIOs that much, either. All of mine wick. I only use them as backup if I need a quick and easy change.

I tried the Mother-Ease with my 2nd ds. I didn't like those at all. They were bulky and not very absorbent. I was not impressed. I'm surprised so many people would recommend them.

i used the swaddlebees one-size fitteds on my DS and i really liked them. he was born a bit over 9lbs and i started using them once his cord stump fell off- around 1wk old. i also started using the size small organic velour swaddlebee fitteds then too. they fit him well right from the start, the crotch is not as wide as the motherease. i thought for one-size, they were fairly trim on a newborn.

definitely worth giving them a try, IMO!

just got my regular os aio swaddlebees. the do snap down pretty small and are suppose to range from 8-35pounds so i guess it depends on if your lo will be about that size...the regular os aios have a different liner than the minis. i've got them in the wash now and my ds is over 15lbs now so it won't be the same as a nb but i'll let you know how they compare.

Great. Thanks everyone. My smallest baby was 7 lbs, 12 oz and they've only gotten bigger so I don't think I'll have trouble with the fit. Now, do I buy some now and use them on my 2yo or wait until just before the baby comes? Hmmmm....I haven't bought dipes in so long I'm going through withdrawals.

well i've used them- and i love 'em. i actually like these better than the mini ones. they fit both my 3month old and my 2 yr old great! i'd get some now and use them, i find these super easy and kinda fun....i think i'm going to mostly use these and keep the mother-ease as back up only. I wish I had found these 2 yrs ago...ok enough of my raving!
