My water broke last night at 10pm. We took off as soon as my dad got there to stay with the kids b/c I have a b/c I have a history of quick labors. (Last was 2 1/2 hours.)
Got to the hospital and was only 1cm dilated, not effaced, baby not engaged. Very long story short, this morning I asked them to start pitocin b/c my labor never started on its own. It was hell and not that birth that I'd planned or hoped for, but I did it. They pronounced me 6cm around 3pm, then I told them that baby was in my bum and coming NOW so they decided to fill the tub and turn off the pitocin. JUST IN TIME.
I made it in the tub and Griffin was born about 2 minutes later.
He is a TINY little thing, weighing 6lbs13.5oz and 19 3/4". So much for my mama instincts on size!
He came out absolutely covered in vernix which I have never had a baby be born with before! He just looked around for about 30 minutes and then decided he wanted to eat and he wanted to eat NOW. He's been eating and sleeping ever since, only making a peep for his testing.
Will try to get better/more pics tomorrow.
The kids have already been up to see him and I am ready for a LONG sleep.:
