BWing while pregnant help..

Ok, so I have been wearing DS (20m) in the RS since I found out I was pregnant with no problem. I am 22 weeks now though and as my belly gets bigger, it is getting harder and harder to wear him even on my hip. Any suggestions for me?? I have a meitai but the straps are freying so it needs to be replaced.

How would you feel about a sling carrier with him in a back position? That's the first thing that comes to mind for me.

He climbs out in a back carry. Like, climbs my back and tries to get down. For some reason he never did it with anyother carrier though. I guess he just gets a better grip in the sling.

Have you tried him in a mei tai on your back (provided he doesn't try to climb out of that style of carrier too)? I'm envisioning criss-crossing the straps over your chest between your breasts, then wrapping around your son and tying it underneath your belly. I have no idea if this would even work. Might be worth a try, though!

that's exactly what happened to me with DD1 when i was pg with DS, her knees starting bumping into my bump so i started doing a high-back carry in a mei tai. i tied the waist straps above my bump, and then tied the shoulder straps tibetan style (crossing them over each other, looping them through the shoulder straps and then tying them in the middle). if you have enough strap length it's nice to also do a 'lexie-twist' where you twist the MT straps a few times behind your child - starting mid-back, and then bringing the straps under their butt -which gives a little extra support too.

if the high back carry presses the knot into your bump, it might feel better to tie under the belly. but i always carry low and it was more comfy for me to tie above the belly.

a wrap in a back carry would be good too, if you have a sturdy woven wrap.
