Also, are Presbyterians Calvinists? They are, right?
Yes, but... there are numerous different Presbyterian denominations and some them are very liberal and don't necessarily adhere to it.

That sounds like a good plan. Really, as long as the church you are going to is really seeking to follow Christ honestly, and not to manipulate people, you will learn a lot just by being there. It may take you to a different place eventually, but that's ok too - it's why God gave of 70 years or so to try to figure things out.

Are you going to be attending a Presbyterian church? It's probably a pretty good choice for a place to start.

We wont be going to a Presbyterian church because DH is now mad about this Calvinism stuff and wants nothing to do with it. Hopefully the Lord leads him where we're supposed to be. Honestly I'm just happy he's finally going to CHURCH!! That in it's own is a major blessing :

Just stopping by to say that I'm a Calvinist/Presbyterian.

I found Calvinism very comforting knowing that God didn't leave the salvation of people all up to the evangelism of Christians. It seemed cruel to send someone to hell just because they didn't come across a missionary or be born in a Christian part of the world.

Knowing that God had the responsibility of saving his people felt so much more right and Biblical. I feel so much better just resting in God's sovereignty knowing He is in control and will do what's best.

In honesty though, it doesn't matter what "feels right" or what we want the truth to be. It matters what actually is the truth and what the Bible says. I've seen so many of these conversations about what you "like" or what "feels good" .... That doesn't really matter if it's not true!

EDITED TO ADD: I also wanted to affirm that you don't have to pick a side. Faith is all that's required no matter what! Your works are just things you do because you love God so much you want to do things pleasing to him. Armineans and Calvinists alike agree on that 100%. Just give it time. You've got the rest of your life to learn about God.
