New sensitivity?

My exclusively BF 11 week-old son has had green, mucusy BMs for 2 weeks now. He's not really fussier than usual. He's always been a farter and still is. He has had several BMs a day since he was a few days old and this hasn't changed, just the color and consistency. He's not a chubby baby at all, so I worry about his weight. He has a great ped who we saw a couple of weeks ago who said he was gaining well and we shouldn't worry about the occasional green BM, but now *every* BM is green (and slimey). My diet has not changed. I'm more than willing to avoid certain foods, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking some other possibility, too.

When you say slimey do you mean lots of mucous? Does it ever seem frothy?

Jack Newman says all new parents should be issued with sunglasses so they don't worry about green poo which he sees as a normal variation. If he seems content and weight gain is fine I personally wouldn't worry.

Green poo can be a sign of a mild virus. Do you any oversupply and/or a very overactive letdown? It can also be related to taking in excess foremilk.

Yes, lots of mucus. Sometimes it's frothy...maybe a third of the time. Baby's really farty, too. But otherwise, he seems pretty content. He has one crying jag a day, usually just before bedtime.

I don't think I have an oversupply. I'm not *too* worried, I'm just curious as to why it changed so suddenly.
