Climbing Vine - Tubers edible?

Sorry I don't have a picture as I don't know what it is called to look it up and I have never figured out how to post my pictures online. But if you think you know what it is I can look up a picture and find out!

The plant has leaves shaped like a morning glory and it climbs like a morning glory however it flowers are small 1 inch long, yellow, it is some what pitcher shaped. As I was weeding yesterday I was pulling up the tuber roots that look like small sweet potatoes but are whiteish.

Any guesses? I want to eat them if they are edible :

Wild sweet potato? do they produce little balls above ground also? and spread like wildfire?
