Can't believe no one mentioned Radiohead. But lots of good suggestions otherwise.

AFI is one of our favorites right now. There's always Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold and dh keeps listening to Pennywise. I'm not a fan of them though.

IMHO, Radiohead is overrated, and a little bit old for the OP's question.

Good suggestions here, though; I teach 6th grade and they seem to be talking about most of these bands this year. Ironically, though, there is a lot of "my" music on their I-Pods (the previously mentioned OP's bands, and then some). Other artists are also re-packaging old late 80's early 90's goth/punk or it's being used in commercials (sob!).

I also have to add, off-topic, that this is my 1000th post, and I have been here for 8 years. Finally.
