what do you use inside a swim diaper cover?

Just got a pair of imse vimse swim diaper covers :-)

They are more trim than the standard imse vimse diaper cover, so I am wondering what people like to use for the absorbent part of the diaper....it seems like a whole prefold would be a bit "much" to fit inside :-)

I have various inserts that I could try...

What have you tried?

Nothing absorbent in a swim diaper. It's just to hold the poo in.

You don't want anything absorbent as it would weigh it down.

Hi! You don't put anything in the swim diaper but the baby
Swim diapers should only be poo catchers -- they are not designed to hold urine. You want them to be as trim as possible so as not to trap air and you don't want them to absorb because they would just absorb the pool and hold baby down.

oh ok, good :-) i hadn't thought about the "drag" it would create for baby in the water! thanks for letting me know.

BTW, the disposable swim diapers are the same. No gel, not much to absorb or it would soak up pool water. They're intended to catch poop. Urine is expected to be handled by the chlorine.
