38 weeks and mild nausea/cramping?

Starting this week I have had intermittent nausea (mainly upon waking), as well as menstrual-type cramping that comes and goes. I also had some tightness in the muscles in the back of my thighs yesterday that hurt like a b*tch when I tried to lean forward, although today the pains are gone. Are any of these signs of impending labor?

This is so exciting!

I don't know but I'm in the exact same position I'm due the 31st and havign the same symptoms. Feels like my period is getting ready to start, lots of nausea. Lots of weird feelings down there....

My first midwife told me those were good signs that your body is getting ready to for the upcoming birth. Doesn't mean it will happen right away, but that things are shifting to prepare for the labour. My nausea usually came back in the last couple weeks, and I get a lot more cramping as things gear up.

All the best as you prepare to meet your baby - whenever he or she decides to come!

I hope so because it's what I'm feeling as well. Had the period crampy feeling for a couple of days now, on and off, and increased BH contractions, so fingers crossed!

The nausea in the morning could be low blood sugar. Have you been checking it to know for sure? A middle of the night snack or a good bedtime snack with protein can help. I always had to get up in the middle of the night to eat a little something to prevent it.
