Getting stains out of prefolds?

I accidentally did a hot water pre-rinse instead of cold, and I've ended up with some poo stains on my prefold diapers as a result. They've already gone through the dryer, so the stains seem kind of set in...They haven't come out in subsequent washes.

I tried hanging the diapers on the clothesline the next time I washed them, but the sun didn't do the trick. Any suggestions on how to get the stains out?

I'd soak them in Bac-Out, rewash and hang them out to dry again. Sometimes it takes a few times on the line to really get the stains out.

They will probably slowly fade with future washing and lots of sunning. They may never come out completely though

You could try treating the stains with hydrogen peroxide.

The stains will likely fade some with more direct sunlight, but it's possible that they are just set. It's definitely worth a try, though!

Thanks. Maybe I'll get some Bac-Out next time I'm at the co-op. I'll try the hydrogen peroxide on one or two of them to see if that helps.

I just discovered that I have some Country Save non-chlorine bleach stashed away. Any thoughts on using that? I have read that some people do occasionally bleach their diapers. I don't think I'd ever use regular clorox-type bleach (seems way to harsh...I actually don't even have that stuff in the house), but maybe a tiny bit of this powder bleach would be ok if I did multiple washes/rinses after?
