Foreskin hole not lining up?

Hey mama's,

My ds has a hole on the upper tip of his foreskin and when he pee's the stream goes up and over like a rainbow. He is only 11 months and still in CD's but at some point my MW said we will most likely have to do something to correct it for him. Is this true? I so hat to think we went through all I did to convince the family why it was best not to circumcise and now , we need to go back and correct something with the foreskin??? Anyone have any ideas?

Is it an actual hole or is the hole he urinates from on the top? My 8 year old had hypospadeous (spelling) when he was born my midwife noticed it and it worked its way to the correct spot. This is why he wasn't circed and now I am so glad he isn't. Unfortunately my 4 oldest are but I didn't know then what I know now. Hope everything works out for you

I had a friends who's baby had a hole on top. And yes he had to have a circ. They needed the skin to correct it. They needed to correct it so when he got older and wanted kids his sperm went in the direction it was suppose to go. Yours is not a case against circ. it all about corrective surgery. Two totally different things. But see a specialist maybe nothing needs to be done at all. And then you can breath a sigh of relief.

it dpends on whether itis on the foreskin, or the actual urethral meatus, where the pee comes out.
if it is on the foreskin, it is not a big deal. if the urethral meatus, then he may need corrective surgery someday, but it is by no means urgent or most of the time, even necessary

Actually you DON'T need to circ for hypo, despite what many doctors may tell you. As long as a boy pees he does NOT need any treatment!!!! This is b/c many times boys grow out of these things. Any genital alterations that are to correct sexual function need not be done until a boy has reached puberty. Not only do many boys grow out of things but the surgery is much safer after puberty when the penis is fully developed. One of the members here "Perspective" knows all about hypo and can answer your questions about this. He actually had hypo as a baby.

To the OP:
What you are describing sounds to me like his foreskin is just attached that way. As he grows and the foreskin separates from the glans (right now it is fused) it will begin to move around freely. With sexual maturity the opening will widen and allow for retraction. I would not worry about this at all. Spraying during urination and urinating in an arch is a normal thing for an intact boy.

There is one thing you might need to do when he is older before retraction happens.... get a splash guard for the toilet! Hahaha That's about all you need to do.

that isn't entirely accurate. If this was true women with tilted utruses wouldn't be able to conceive! Conception isn't a bullseye, its more of a splat!

If it is just the foreskin itself then the holes very rarely line up because the foreskin hangs there kinda like a sock on your hand it will droop and shift all over the place. At this point in time I wouldnt give it another thought.

I am going to assume no one has pulled his foreskin back any right? not even a tiny bit because that is the only way to see the glans unless he has a super short foreskin.

Until you can see the glans you wont know if it is affected or not. And you wont know that until your ds starts pulling not only out on it but trying to push it back as well.

He had two holes. That urine came out of both. So he needed the surgery.

Without knowing the specific child we generally say that unless the urine is blocked do nothing until the penis is sexually mature. Either way this is not what the OP is describing so it doesn't apply here.

Thanks Ladies...I feel it really is not the time to worry about it anyway, but it had come up in discussion lately with DH and we kinda wanted to do some research and for me this is the safest place on the Internet for such questions.

His foreskin has NEVER been pulled back, nor will it be to see if it is just the foreskin or the actually hole on his penis, but I have a good feeling it is just how the foreskin itself is attached and will most likely move around to where it works better for aiming in the future.

Thanks!

Unless the stream causes specific irritation of the tissue it flows past, leave it alone. My own stream has gone various directions in stages as I grew up and today is as straight as you can imagine. But it's irrelevent. If he can urinate, he's fine for now.

I still don't get why he would "need" to get circ'd. If the holes were in the foreskin why not just stitch the extra hole closed??

(The OP stated the hole she was refering to was in the foreskin not the actual glans.)

Why circumcision??

It could just be that the foreskin shifts... a lot. My ds is about the same age as yours, we EC and I've experienced every kind of "misalignment" of the urethral hole and foreskin opening. It will shoot up like a "rainbow" sometimes, and other times straight backwards It just depends on how the skin is aligned at the moment. I wouldn't worry until you know for sure something is not right.
