I LOVE Jenny Derugen and Teri with Seven Cities Midwifery! If you need her info., let me know!

I was informed recently that none of the CNMs in HR do homebirths, so you would need to find a CPM. I've heard good things about VAhomebirth and Sevencities. I hope to have a homebirth or at least a midwife attended birth should I ever get pregnant again.

Has anyone had experiences with these groups?

I have Seven Cities Midwifery and Va Homebirth Midwifery as the possibilities for our area (Hampton). Both of their websites look pretty good, and really pretty comparable. I would love to hear from anybody who has used either of these groups. I'll be ttc towards the end of the year (just a few more months!), and will be an HBA2C. I got an email from VHM once that indicated they would be willing to at least discuss this, so I assume 7 Cities will, too. :

The midwives at Depaul's birthing center recommended Seven Cities to me as a good homebirth provider. I have not birthed with them personally but plan to for any subsequent pregnancies.

Good luck

Jenny DerugenTeri, and Jeni Rector all use to work together. Jeni and Terri were apprenticing under Jenny. They were all at the birth of my son and Each one of them was absolutely amazing! Jenny and Terri who now work together are an amazing calming presence. Jeni is bubbly and and so much fun to have at your birth because she keeps things light hearted. You cna't go wrong with any one of these ladies. I miss them so!

Teri was my doula for both of my previous births. She is absolutely wonderful and so, so sweet and knowledgeable. I think it's so great that she has become a midwife. I know she would be awesome!

Another vote for Jeni. She is awesome!

She has worked with me and been so helpful and considerate and patient. The two apprentice midwives who work with her are really fun too. I like her personality...she really puts you at ease. I think the 3 of them will be awesome to have at my dd's birth in a couple months.

I've worked with mostly VHM(but have done pnv's with Jenny/Terri), and love them all...Jeni, Jenny and Terri are great midwives! Jeni does do Medicaid clients, I don't know if Sevencities does or not, and I think they both do Tricare? you could ask...
