help me fix my injured waldorf dolls! xposted in waldorf

Thread Starter
I just got two Waldorf dolls at my thrift store (for FREE) but they are a little worse for wear. I was hoping someone could help me figure out the best ways to fix them.

here's both of them together

here's blondie's legs

legs again

here's the brunette

the brunette's nose

brunette's shoulder

I've never made a waldorf doll or any doll for that matter, so any help would be appreciated. I am xposted this is waldorf and arts and crafts.

Also if someone recognizes these dolls, brand wise, I would be interested in that too!

Can't help you with the nose but I would sew up the other rips by hand. Use a regular needle and thread but run the thread through beeswax to strengthen it. Use a good strong backstitch and go over the area twice--it might look a little lumpy but your kids probably won't notice!

Great find by the way!

All the repairs are simple except for the nose. Your photos illustrate perfectly why I avoid putting raised noses on Waldorf dolls for young children. There is no easy fix when they wear through.

You can try to darn the hole like you would a sock, but you will always have a mended area there. You can re-skin the head but that means redoing the hair as well. It looks as if your doll has a cap wig sewn on. This needs to be removed, new skin knit pulled over the head and stitches down, new features embroidered and then the wig sewn back on. It's a big job and matching the skin tone knit could be a problem, too. Good luck with it.
