Thanks everyone!
We are finally, finally home after one long, long week. The nicu is great when you need it, but oh god does it suck. I'm grateful it was there to help her and am so, so glad to have gotten the hell out of there. The monitors, the alarms going off, the poor screeching babies, the cords, the schedules, the blown IV, the 6 sticks to start the new IV, the poor babies there for weeks and weeks.
Natalie is beautiful and amazing and we are in awe of our miracle. I am so ecstatic she is finally, finally here.
Here's a picture of her.
We're working on getting the hang of nursing. Fortunately my milk came in easily and my supply is doing will with pumping. We've been using the finger feeder now that we're home and are working on transitioning her more and more to breast. She's a determined little one and I know we'll get there. Had my 2nd appt. with an awesome lactation consultant here and we're on track. Will be thrilled to be on breast exclusively and done with pumping.
Life is good
