Hi- I was here with a diapering question and saw your post. I'm one of the EC mamas who responded to your question in that forum. I think what we were trying to say was that babies just pee that often, and you probably didn't realize it, since he had a diaper on the other times. What you described doesn't sound frequent to me, and babies just pee when they are ready to, regardless of where! At least mine does!

Even at 13 months, she may pee 3 times in a fifteen minute period. (She will also go longer, but just now she peed twice within five minutes!) I was just suggesting that you hold him over a bowl or something before you lay him down for nakey time, since you already know he's going to pee. It makes sense to me. For me, offering a chance to go potty over a bowl has been easier than changing wet diapers, and then adding to the laundry, but every one is different. You might just experiment with different times of day, and just be aware of the fact that some babies really do like to pee once that diaper is off! That's what waterproof pads and towels and prefolds, etc. are for.

Some (many) people do part time EC, and that can be offering the potty one time a day or anything more than that. Babies are really adaptable and go with the flow!
I hope you find a good nakey time for you guys!
As for ECing with boys, veedeepee, my understanding is that there is some pointing and aiming that takes place! I just have the one girl, so I don't have experience with that!
