Best natural deodorant?

I have tried a few - Toms and the spray crystal stuff. Toms didn't work well for me.. I liked the crystal spray better, but I am still looking for the best natural deodorant. Any suggestions? I am willing to experiment.

I have the pure crystal deodorant, not a spray, just the plain crystal. It works wonderful. I bought it in Korea, and have had it for five years now. It is hardly any smaller! I sweat a lot and I find this is the only thing that will actually help me! I am sure you can find the stuff online somewhere.

I am beginning week 2 of my first batch of homemade. I found the recipe here:

So, far it is the best all around deodorant I have tried, natural and not. I happened to have shea butter to whip up the first batch and then ordered more from MRH. I added 2 t. of coconut oil since she has a note stating she would add almond oil next time. I used a combo of tea tree and lavender essential oils, but you could use a bazillion different combinations. So, far, no rash and I love the smell.

Funk Butter is aluminum free, and more effective than anything else I've tried, including mainstream chemical-y stuff.

Unfortunately a lot of people can't use it because it irritates the skin. It worked good on odor for me, but I had to stop using it since my armpits were turning red.

Just came across this post. I too have the plain salt crystal and it's by far the best thing I have ever used. I find that you need to rub it for about 10-15 seconds on each arm for it to work really well. I can go for 24 hours without 'smelling' lol. I love it and yes it does last forever if you don't drop it hehe

We mix a bunch of baking soda with the body cream of our choice, as much as we can and still have it be creamy , keep it in a jar in the bathroom, and use that. Best thing we've ever tried. I find we only need to use it every couple of days. Don't find that it stains clothing either -- would depend on the cream, I think.

I love my solid crystal, my husband and I have both been using the same one together for 6 months, and it hasn't gotten any smaller it seems.

i use aubrey's organics e + high c. there is nothing weird in it, and it works great.

I used to use baking soda with coconut oil with a drop of tea tree oil per cup of mixture and loved it. I leave it in my bedroom closet. I also use the rock crystal for 20 secs or so if I'm not planning on sweating too much that day. I say I use each one equally so I don't know which I would say my 'favorite is'

I've been using plain bicarb on damp pits when I get out of the shower.

I don't stink and I'm not too wet either! I am a stinky person generally and now I find that if I use ordinary anti-perspirant I stink more

I use bicarb to no'poo my hair and have also stopped using cleansers on my face with no ill effect. I feel now that the more you struggle against your body the more it struggles against you. Doing less is better all round for me.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to experiment a little with these. I just ordered some funk butter.

One more to try...
Sodium ascorbate aka vitamin C. Wet either a tablet, or some powder and rub a small amount on your armpit.
Apparently it will also get rid of any stink you might have already
Have fun experimenting!

I started out doing this and it totally worked, but I found mixing the soda with something creamy made it less messy in the bathroom when my dd tried it.

Plain old coconut oil.

And I work in a busy restaurant as a server. It holds up well.

The original Lavilin was amazing. It's too bad they changed the formula and added all the chemicals. I still have 1 or 2 of the originals left, and since it keeps me stink free for at least a month at a time at this point... I'm hoping it will last many years.

Now makes a long-lasting deodorant that has ingredients similar to the orignal Lavilin: http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Deodo...-65-g/536?at=0
Has anyone here ever tried it?

Before I switched to Lavilin, I used to use that Aubrey product, and really liked it.
