So since my DS is almost 18 months old I didn't think I would be in the position for plugged ducts (I know it could happen just wasn't really worried about it). Well last night I guess in my sleepiness I only nursed on one side. Well I woke up early and my right breast hurt soooo bad (I was engorged). I nursed but when I woke up to go to work it was still sore. I don't feel a lump or anything (kinda feels bruised). Can this happen after you have a plugged duct? I keep rubbing and putting heat on it. I pumped 2 times today and it doesn't feel any better but not any worse. I just didn't know if it could still be sore from being plugged earlier. Any BTDT?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

You don't feel anything hard in it, even something small? If not, then I'm prone to say it's just sore. I've had a plugged duct (same one plugs all the time) and while my symptoms are similar to yours--keep pumping w/o relief, I could usually feel some hardness in it.
If it doesn't go away in a few days, I'm inclined to think that you probably have something clogged in there.

After I have a plugged duct my breast can feel sore and painful for up to a week. So, you may be sore for a few days even if it was just engorgement. With all that excess milk in there you may have caused some stretching or slight damage. I wouldn't be too worried, but for me taking extra Vit. C helps the healing.
