Swollen feet following delivery?

I had a vbac without any meds and I thought I would avoid the swollen feet and ankles this time... but here I am with sausage feet!
The nurse said just stay off my feet and drink a lot. Is there anything else I can do. I'm being silly and I have cabbage leaves wrapped on my feet in hopes it helps like with engorgement on breasts. Any other ideas? Its kind of impossible to be off my feet with 2 year old twins!

I'm assuming no meds means you didn't have an IV, so I have no idea why you'd have swollen feet...just keep drinking water?? I was SUPER swollen after DD1's birth, but I had an IV. It took literally two weeks of night sweats to get all that fluid out of my body. This time, I didn't have an IV and my pg swelling went down a couple days after delivery.
If you just delivered recently (like within the last few days), you might want to check w/ your OB or MW just to be sure...sometimes swelling can point to blood pressure issues...but it's probably just your body figuring out what to do w/ that water weight, it will most likely go away soon.

I had super swollen feet after I had my son 5 years ago. I had a homebirth, so no IV or anything either. I didn't have any swelling at all during my pregnancy, but afterwards my toes looked like little Vienna sausages! I didn't do anything to help make it go away, but it did all on it's own. I don't remember how long it took though.

No IV but I did have a shot of pitocin after delivery which the nurse said can retain fluids. Its annoying! I know it will go away soon.

My 2nd birth was totally natural and my feet swelled up very badly. My doula came in the next day and pushed the fluid from my feet all the way up to my thighs. It was really weird and I couldn't walk around without feeling like my feet were going to burst. I was told it was normal but haven't had it happen again and never knew anyone else who had it.
