Yes, you can wait. We had a major infestation while in Germany and the vet over there told us to leave the ticks alone until we got to the vet the next day and he removed them. I highly recommend the otom tick twister, that's the tool the vet gave us to remove ticks. It takes about 1 second to remove a tick and I have never had a problem with the head breaking off. You just scoop a little, twist and it's over. My dogs never even noticed when I did it.

YES-my dog was acting all weird(well weirder than normal) and she had a tick in her ear! We've used Frontline since. My big shepard/husky mix gets them often, I HATE ticks. I've become an expert at tick removal though. light a match and stick it on the the ticks butt(after its out) it will wiggle and then take the tweezers and gently turn it, they usually pop right off. Unless they are imbedded, but I've never had that happen.

Just a personal aside.....I think the quicker you get them out the better....less time to transfer disease. Also, I know when I have gotten tickes, the ones that I dont find right away or that I waited to remove itched and hurt for weeks whereas the ones I removed immediately were more like mosquito bites.
