back carries for a toddler?

what's best, in your experience, for back carrying a toddler? dd is soon to be one, & is a chunky little thing anyway... we currently use an ergo but it's pretty short in the body already...

Perhaps a long body MT would work. I have heard that the Kozy has a long body.

wraps...I love my woven! And I still carry my 20month old (though not as much due to this giant 34week belly I have..lol) The support is great, no pressyre points...I love it.

I am comfortable carrying my 2 yo in a Beco Butterfly, Ergo, and Babyhawk (toddlerhawk). I keep eyeing the Kozy's but I can't find a print I am in love with (and I really don't need any more carriers).

I can carry my 14 month old comfortably in my Beco, but I really love my wraps. They fit any body type.

When my ds was that age, I carried him primarily in a Beco BWD (a former model from Beco) and it was a breeze. But now that he's almost 4, I can still wear him in an AngelPack or Butterfly. Both are tall bodied.

There are some larger bodied MT's and SSC's out there...for MT's, other than Kozy's, there are Nurslings Hemp Tais, and I believe Beanslings are a bit bigger. For SSC's, Kanga has a large body, and I think you can even get a Kanga XT for extra tall. I haven't been paying as much attention lately to new brands as I don't need any more carriers, but there are probably others out there if you take a peek at The Babywearer.

before about a month ago i would've said to get a longer-bodied SSC, like an old 4th Gen beco, a Toddler Patapum, or one of the many other toddler SSC's on the market these days.

butabout a month ago i tried a chunei for the first time. and let me tell you i don't use anything else anymore! it is my total go-to carrier with my chunky almost 13 month old. all her weight is carried on my hips and torso, there is absolutely no weight on my shoulders, it is flippin amazing. it's not the sexiest carrier out there, but it is well worth it. in fact i'm about to make one from a woven wrap i have so i can have two so i can be sure i always have one handy.

i got mine from hosausa.com and they also sell them at thekoreanbaby.blogspot.com

I use my Ergo comfortably for my 20lb 12mo old or my 33lb 2.5yr old. The baby is a short little guy though so I don't worry about him trying to arch back.

I agree that an Ergo is a bit short in the body length, at least for me.

I prefer a mei tai, SSC, or woven wrap.
