Hi, I'm dealing with ppd/blues after my birthing my second child ... reading so many positive post is so encouraging and I'm going the natural route with taking omega acids, DHA/EPA, and Blessed Thistle. I was going to take the 5 HTP for sleep but after reading some of the negatives I'm not sure since I nurse! Anyone have any other suggestions? too help with sleep that's more natural? Also, could anyone share their success stories .. I just love reading those! It's so encouraging to know, this too shall pass and what I'm finding is that getting outside, walking, talking things through, deep breaths, singing to joyful happy music (sounds silly but helps), watching feel good movies, eating smaller meals (since my appetite is little) asking for help ... all contributes in big and small ways! Finishing a race, takes one step at a time!! Right now, it's sleep I'm struggling with ... all is well and when I lay my head down I feel like a race is going on inside ... anyone relate?? It keeps me awake. Any suggestions?
Bless each of you and thanks so much for sharing!!

Good for you, going the natural route. I recomend Magnesium Glycinate, 600 mg, it has helped me! Link in my siggy has another link to the brand I take and where I get it. The Magnesium seems to relax me inside, it could help you too.

Also try the Liddell Anxiety and letting go spray! (under the tounge)I used it and started singing as I went about my work. : Click on link in my siggy

Essential oil sprays like Happy Mama Spray

I am sending you a big hug first of all. I had some ppd after my third child due to family stress and issues going on. I found that a fairly healthy diet, acupuncture and a good support system helped me. But it was still challenging. I am glad that I have moved on now, things do change and get better for most mothers.
Best to you and you are NOT alone! Alot of people won't admit they have ppd. Although many of my girlfriends have not gone on meds and have chosen yoga, acupuncture and other alternative routes, I'd say a good 90% were impacted by birth and the after time.
