Prefolds for infant

So, I posted another thread about covers w/ prefolds, but in reading someone's else "stash" question I now have a new question myself.

I just have regular prefolds. Do I need to worry about buying infant prefolds? is the size that much different? I had no idea there evne was a smaller size so now I'm worried I have the wrong thing!

I found a very small prefold size to be very useful. I'm too busy to be folding a huge diaper down into nothing every time I change one!

Oops! I just did some checking and I do have some infant sized. Not newborn, but infant. I think based on my son's size that should be okay this time too.

You'll probably like the extra layers up front anyway for soaking up pee. I fold mine down and it's getting tight to do so...but I like that thickness in front.

I bought a bunch of newborn PF this time. The first week or so we jsut used one at a time. Then he started to pee more so I would trifold one inside another and snappi them on. I loved having PF's that truly FIT w/o folding them all over. My son only fit in them for the first 3-4 weeks or so, but they are now used as burb cloths, rags and a number of other things. It was worth it for me.

My thoughts exactly! We used our NB prefolds for about 10 weeks or so though. I have a little lo!

I have some that are 2x6x2 and they seem so thin but they fit the newborn covers better than the flats I have......will these even work????? they fit perfectly in the covers with no fold down and I know poop containment is more important than absorbency at that stage but just wondering if they are usable?
Thanks - sorry to hijack but maybe you can benefit from the answers.....

yup - the 2x6x2 are usable! With nb's you change pretty often anyway, so you'll probably be fine during the day. When you need more absorbancy, you can use two or add a doubler.
