Last year when we where looking for our second dog, I signed up for some adoption/rescue agencies and they send emails if any dogs fit what we where looking for(I signed up last Jan)
well I didnt hear any thing for awhile , we adopted Daisy and I never got off the lists, I still look. I wont be adopting another though as I have my hands full.

well in this past week alone I have recieved 7 emails from some of these rescues. And most of these dogs are 2+
where are these pups coming from? I know the economy is bad , could it be that

Yes, rescues/pounds/etc have seen an increase in abandoned or surrendered pets since the downturn in the economy. Here's an article about it:

However, I also think that, even in good economic times, the beginning of the summer is prime stray and abandoned dog season. So, the increase in emails you are receiving could be due to a combination of those factors.

Not only does the economy increase the number of pets reliquished, but many shelters have had their funding eliminated and are closing. In the best case scenario, those pets go to already over burdened rescues.
