After 12 long weeks of non-stop contractions I think I'm finally in real labor!!!!!
I'm 38 weeks and 5 days. I've been having a ton of super strong 2 minute apart, minute and a half long contractions for several days now, but nothing else besides that. I woke up this morning at 6:30am with the same contractions and got my son ready for school as usual. At 8:38am my body started clearing itself out again with diarrhea (has been going on for days), but this time when I wiped there was a bunch of bloody show mixed with mucus!!!!!
: FINALLY a sign of some progress! I was just about to get in the bath at that point since I had already filled it to try and calm the contractions, but after seeing the bloody show I figured I better get everything all set up for our homebirth. So I made up the bed with 2 sets of sheets, added more air to the birth tub and set that up, vacuumed the house, put all the laundry away, ate some cereal and watermelon, drank my strong red raspberry leaf infusion, called my mom and friend in CA, called the midwives to give them a heads up, and NOW I'm going to get in the bath and listen to my HypnoBabies Birth Day cd! My body had another clearing out a little bit ago and there was more bloody show and it looks like I passed a bloody mucus plug too! : My son is still at school for 2 1/2 more hours, but I'll have his dad go pick him up if things get more intense since he's supposed to be here for the birth. The contractions are strong, but I can still walk and talk through them, which is how it was with my son's labor till the very end. With my son's birth, I had my first "painful" (where I couldn't walk or talk through it) contraction at 6:15am and my son was born 55 minutes later. So I'm expecting to go from 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye again! We'll see! It's 12:21pm right now!
