help with the next step please...

Hi. I think my 17 month old has had a prolonged reaction to a recent vaccine. He has been sick for 7 weeks straight. At a 15 month well check visit (at 16 months) my son had been going through day 3 of diarrhea and the doctor insisted on having at least one vaccine before we left the office. He received the last of his Hib. I should have stopped this at the first feeling of pressure. Since then he has been sick with a rash, thick stuffy nose, and now looks like he developed allergies to everything. A little history...
2 month shot visit he had a reaction, slept listless for 8 hours straight, coma like, he did wake once after me bugging him enough, for that 20 mins he was awake he screamed that awful painful shot cry and had a huge poo. From that point on we delayed vaccines. He would get a shot once a month. He seemed to do well with that... until now. Prior to the recent Hib vaccine, his last shot was in Oct. , the flu shot (reacted with 101 fever).
diarrhea, which turned out to be rotavirus 7 weeks ago... had Hib shot on day 3
thick snotty nose 6 weeks ago, days after shot, it came when the rota left
blistery rash along with hives 5 weeks ago, diagnosed with chicken pox
2 weeks later rash and hives still there, negative pox culture, developed pink eye or something, fever of 101, given antibiotics.
This goes on for a week more and we are sent to a dermatologist, she said his rash is viral and its because of the rotavirus... the derm diagnosed the rota 6 weeks after he had it.
So here we are week 7 of being ill. He still has an eczema / hive like rash on face, neck/chest area, and arms, irritated eyes, and still has thick yellow stuffy nose. It seems to "flare up" 2 times a day. It effects his sleeping and his comfort. I don't know what the next step would be. Maybe an allergist? Report doctor? Report reactions? Can the allergist detect vaccine allergy? Whats the alternative to benadryl every day? We are continuing to nurse and taking probiotics.
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Poor baby!

My first advice is to see a ND if you can. Try some holistic techniques. You'll get more advice on that I'm sure.

My second advice (which really is my ONLY advice) is to stop vaccinating and report all the reactions to VAERS. And find a new doctor - no one should be vaccinated while sick.

In your shoes I would be looking for a DAN! doctor in your area. They may be able to help with some testing to see what's going on, and supporting your child's immune system to get it back on track. Traditional allopathic medicine will have nothing to offer you at this point. At the very least they will deny the vaccine connection, and at the very worst they will continue to recommend vaccines for your little one, even though he is clearly having a hard time tolerating them.

Good luck and speedy healing to your little guy.

I'm sorry I second the recommendations for naturpath and DAN! doc. Some naturopaths also do DAN! procedures. i also highly recommend the book "Healing the 4 A's" (full title listed on my website).

Hib is, I believe, the least reactive vaccine out there, and very very effective. Isn't it possible that he just caught a bug at the doctors office? Doctor's offices are notorious for all kinds of germs.

I hope your little guy feels better!

i would look for a DAN doctor. They treat all sort of vaccine reactions not just autism.

so even though your little one was sick he pushed the vax? Isn't that even against aap guidelines?
I'm so sorry i hope your little one gets better soon.

update...

Thank you for all your help. I found a DAN! doctor an hour away in DC. I haven't called yet. Unfortunately, he woke up with a cough last night and wheezing. We took him to an urgent care. He had breathing treatments that included sterhoids and a bronchial dialater. She sent us home with a breathing treatment machine and another zpack. She does not believe this is all from a vaccine reaction. Once again, viral. If he did pick something up from the dr office, does viral really last 7 weeks? Something is not normal here. Little guy has never been sick before all this. I'm so worried.

Even if it were a vaccine reaction, you are very unlikely to find a mainstream doctor who will ever admit it. Think of the liability if they did! Think of the guilt they would be forced to feel when the full enormity of how many innocent children they've blindly injected with vaccines hit them. No, easier to deny, deny, deny.

I'm so sorry, mama. I think you should listen to your gut--if it seems like something more than a simple viral infection to you, then get another opinion. And another, and another, until you find someone who will listen to you. And call the DAN! doctor if you think you can make the commute. It's worth it.
