DH - "Oh."

I would like to share a NIP experience! My DH was less then thrilled about the prospect of me NIPing. We were out at Goodwill and I nursed in the car (no chairs in goodwill and I can't nurse in the moby yet ) Anyways, DH was pacing around and finally came over to my side of the car to talk to me and said "Oh." Which translates into "You can't see anything, I thought you would have your whole boob out!" Hes way more chill about when I NIP now, its great, he is totally on board for boobs. Hes talked about the money we save by not buying formula (or diapers) and even cleans my pump for me! I wasn't trying to have a battle over this, I'm so happy it worked out! :

DH - "Oh."

DH - Oh

DH OH

Dhoh

D'oh!

Sorry, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw your thread title. I just pictured some husband saying, "D'oh!" like Homer Simpson, totally realizing how great BFing is and how could he have worried?!

That's awesome that he's on board now. Having a supportive partner makes such a huge difference. So much of this stuff is just about unfamiliarity.

That's awesome.

I just love those moments, where 'daddy' suddenly realizes he doesn't know what he thought he did.

DH had one when DS was tiny, I thought I was coming down with the flu, but I had a good supply of pumped milk in the freezer, DH had been trying too hard with the bottle and actually messed up any chance at getting DS to take it, and said, dishearteningly, "I guess we're going to *have* to use the bottle for a while, then."

"Honey, if I BF him, he won't be getting any more germs than me holding him, and he'll be getting my antibodies which will help keep him from getting sick."

"Oh... Bmilk doesn't carry germs? I didn't know that."

We were shopping for a washing machine when dd1 was a new babe and she started to get fussy. I said I was going to go feed her. DH says, "you are not going to bf her in public."

I think, Yeah and I walk away, lift my shirt, put her to me breast, throw a cloth dipe over my shoulder and continue to walk around with dh.

We finish shopping, walk out to the car and he asks if I want to feed her now. Ha - I told him, already done it.

From that moment on, he had no issues.
