Reiki Moms - Page 2

The friend that attuned me was distance attuned by someone in India! I have no idea how she found out about it. I read her Reiki manual from a class she had taken also. My friend also had me read Reiki for Dummies and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I actually bought a copy and refer to it now and then

Here is a wonderful link to 5 protection exercises. I think you will find them helpful.

I personally like using number 5!

It's not all about learning - attunement is important to sort of open you up to feeling/running energy. So, yes, you can do it from a distance... you need an attunement, though. It depends on the reiki master how effective a distant attunement would be. Beyond that, you just start practicing, for the most part. The more you do, the better you get and the more comfortable you'll be with it.

Subbing b/c I'm hoping to study Reiki this fall/spring and start incorporating it into my massage work as well as working with my 10 y/o {Aspergers, ADD, SPD, agenesis corpus collosum, hydrocephaly} and 8 y/o {anxiety disorder, AD/HD} and my dh {PTSD and assorted connected issues}

Thanks to the pp for the link to the Sealed With Love page. I : Donna Eden and miss doing her meditations and energy works. I had a boxed set of hers but alas my children being who they are have issues with putting things back and treating others personal belongings with care.

Reiki for dummies is worth the $ hmn? I'll add it to my amazon wish list.

Hello! I have always been interested in Reiki, well I am interested in just about everything, BUT I would like to learn how to do Reiki, and of course I am in much need of Reiki. Where would I start learning?

Look in your area for holistic healing sorts of places. Usually if you ask around there they can hook you up with some reiki practitioners. My area has a "holistic resource guide" pamphlet that has listings of that type, so you could look there, too. Or ask in the tribes section on mdc if anyone in your area knows of a reiki practitioner...

What a neat site! I feel like I pick up and hold onto stuff easily so I like to do dry brushing and aura clearing with Reiki too.

I was Reiki I attuned in 2000 and level II in 2001 while I was a student at UCSC in Santa Cruz. I haven't used it much in the past few years, I became jaded when my dog and to go to the vet for a $2500 emergency surgery and couldn't wait until the regular clinic opened at 8am. Silly huh?
Anyway lately I have been thinking to myself 'Reiki on' and visualizing myself being calm and relaxed or visualizing others who are in tough situations improving. I am gradually renewing my practice and hope to continue on a regular basis.
Bee well:

The International Center For Reiki Training has a wonderful site with over 100 Reiki articles. Here is the link http://www.reiki.org/reikinews/reikinews.html.

You can also go here http://www.reiki.org/ReikiClasses/Sc...yLocation.html to see if there are any classes listed for your state.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the links. Sadly the only classes listed in my state right now are for the weekend before my dh goes back to school full time so I'll have my hands and my mind full at that point and be unable to get away but I'll keep my eye on the site and pray something turns up in the next year or so.

Bummer. There aren't any classes listed for my state at all at this time.
I see it as an opportunity for me to learn as much as I can now, so when I do get a chance for classes/an attunement I can be better prepared.

I did bookmark the links so I can take my time reading them.

woot! I am level I attuned...and throuh a reiki "pay it forward" program will also get II and Master soon.

After the classes I will see how it goes and offer free attunments here if I can. (I know you can send reiki distance - ut can you attune from a distance?)

Hi I have Reiki I and 2. I would like to practice it more. I do feel energy blocks right now, and can't seem to move it myself. I would love to be included in a distance healing. And I am happy to be here to connect with other moms who practice Reiki.

chkpea-I would be happy to include you in my distance healing. Do you give yourself Reiki? I have been giving myself Reiki at least 3 times a week for 20 minutes and it has been very helpful in keeping my energy levels up.

thank you angelailona, I am just feeling really drained and tight around my heart chakra. I know I need to do the Reiki for myself, I am not sure what is stopping me.
does anyone here who practices have a really short attention span? I would have a real challenge to do reiki for 20 min at a time. (LOL)

I tend to try and just see myself as an energetic being all the time and let it flow through me and to others all the times I think of it.

How have you dealt with this?

I *just* became a certified level 2 practitioner Sunday. I attend a share every Wednesday and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Reiki! I am so happy to see other mom's on here into Reiki as well! How awesome! :
Do any of you have a Reiki clinic or practice Reiki for a living? If so, how much do you charge? How do you get clients? How long did you practice before accepting clients? I definitely want to make this a career, but I feel I have more inner work to do before I would feel comfortable taking on clients.

I am planning on getting my massage license next year so I can practice energy healing. I believe in Florida it is reqired because of liability.

Christina10106-I was lucky when I first started out with Reiki because I already had massage therapy clients that were interested in energy work. What I did was offered Reiki for $25 for my first 25 sessions to them and then I also offered Reiki free of charge to close friends and family for the first few months. That really worked out great for me and I now have some regulars coming in for Reiki. I also work at a Health Food Store and I have my brochures there. I am hoping to do some health fairs and offer chair massage and Reiki over the next year or so to get the word out about Reiki.

transformed-I also had a problem getting started giving my self treatments. I now use a guided CD for my Reiki self treatments. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The CD that I have has 3 different guided treatments. Here is the link http://www.inner-sanctum.com/Reiki.htm. I have CD 1 and 2 of the set. I highly recommend them.

chkpea-I will add you to my healing list. Please let me know if you need anything. You can pm me if you would like!

Hello mamas. I have seen other posts regarding Reiki in Health and Healing and think that it belongs there better. So I am moving it over now.
