any weavers here?

I have just started weaving and I would love to hear tips from any more experienced weavers here.

I have a small Cricket loom and managed to get it warped and I have about 8" done so far. It is pretty rough looking but getting better as I go.

I have lots of questions - but I'll wait to see if there are any others weaving here

I haven't woven in years... and in fact I had to sell my 4 harness loom because it just wouldn't fit in our house (it was HUGE). I seem to recall there's a few forums for weavers around though that can probably answer any of your questions.

I'm holding out hope that someday I'll be able to get a smaller loom again.

I'm not a full time weaver but I do weave. I have an 8 harness floor loom. I'd be happy to answer any questions that I have the answers to.

I am more of a tapestry weaver... but I can probably answer questions too.

I did a unit of weaving at art school. I don't have a loom though and haven't done it in a while.

Thanks! Things have been a little too crazy here to get the loom out again since I last posted - maybe this week things will settle down and I can try again

Card/tablet weaving. Does that count?? I haven't done much for a couple of years but I used to do a ton!! (Not that I personally own much of it!!!)

I do know that card-weaving makes a really cool selvage (sp??) for a warp-weighted loom.

Card-weaving projects:

Shantimama, our friend Sandy's mom is a weaver, and LOVES to talk about it and teach...I betcha Sandy would give you her number, if you asked. She has recently taken a couple of two week long (maybe even three or four weeks) master classes, and just had a blast!

i weave too, although not as much as i used to since my little man was born. I have an 8harness avl production loom, and someday i'm going to really use it like it's meant to be used, for serious production, but for now, count me in to the weaving momma's club, and i too would be happy to answer any q's or anything. So, how do you guys find the time to weave?
OP- thanks for posting this, it's so nice not to be the only one!

Twinklefeet - Right now I don't have the time to weave. We barely have the space in our house so when the loom is set up it's always in the way.

A couple of years ago I was able to teach several knitting classes. I had a blast!
