make me a supermodel -- i can't be the only one watching

surprised to find there are no make me a supermodel threads.

glad salome finally went home. tired of her whining (and blaming her mennonite upbringing for being clueless about everything).

i like all the remaining models, but am rooting for mountaha.

anyone else watching?

I am watching, too. I think this is such a great show! And Tyson Beckford....eye candy!

Johnathan is my favorite. I actually liked Salmone but mostly because she reminds me of a good friend of mine. And I think Sandhurst is so funny, I love listening to his commentary. But Johnathan for the win.

Nope. I'm watching too!

I LOVED Salome! I don't understand why I'm the only one.. I just wished she had exercised or something

I am rooting for either Jonathan or Sandhurst. I like Mountaha but since she was Salome's nemesis, I can't root for her to win.

I am soooo glad that Jonathan turned blonde again. The makeover they gave him just sucked.

I basically watch it. Started getting into it w/ trying not to be bored bouncing DD on the bouncing ball. Not sure I have a favorite, I just keep telling DH the trini guy is still there (DH is from trini).

Wow, happened to see this thread, and yes I've seen the show. Not the earliest of earliest episodes, but I have seen some in rerun while folding clothes, etc.

I didn't know Salome was voted off! Haven't watched that rerun yet. I personally think she's gorgeous and will go far. We both have those big gorgeous eyes...I think I rooted for all the big eyed girls (even Amanda) because of it.

I definitely think Jonathan should be the one. He's the complete package. However, I hate the makeover they gave him where he went dark haired. I don't felt that it matched him at all and that they got that so wrong!

My oldest DD saw this a couple of times, she thought the getups they wore on the runway were too funny. I teased her that she's so gorgeous that she could do that. I modeled when I was younger, though only did runwy a couple of times locally. I was "too" big at a normal weight to do anything more. It bugs me that the girls in this show are so crazy thin. I mean my DS at 3 y.o. has a waist as large as those models!

I though Salome's pictures were awesome. The constant harping by everyone on her weight was irritating though; I'm glad that's gone.

I hope Jonathan wins ... the whole papa bear provider angle they're working with him tugs at my heartstrings. I kind of have a soft spot for Brandon though. I don't think he's nearly as attractive as the judges seem to think, but he has that little brother vibe to him that kind of just makes me want to spread a wing over him. (That makes me old, right? )

The looks they choose for the runway are some of the biggest trainwrecks on TV ever.

I vote for Jonathan or Brandon. Both bring out my maternal instincts. Brandon because he is just a kid who misses his mommy .
Jonathan because he is a daddy trying to support his family.

I want either Jonathan or Sandhurst (spelling?) to win. I had such a good laugh at the episode the other week where Brandon accidentally cut himself. "There's no way to sugarcoat it his testicles are bleeding."

i thought salome took great photos, i just didn't like her. yes, she probably should have worked out (she could have won the whole thing). a little self-sabotage, perhaps?

i hated jonathan as a brunette too. yuck! didn't suit him at all.

I laughed SO HARD. I kept rewinding it and re watching that part. Each time I laughed harder.

I watched it last season and I'm watching it again this season. I think it's great. And yes Tyson... hubba hubba!

I really like Sandhurst and Johnathan. I liked Salome and was sad to see her go. She was actually about the only girl I could tolerate. The other ones... wow. True pieces of work.

Oh, I just noticed that they're having a marathon this week (I think it's Wednesday) before the finale.

Any ideas on who you think will win (the last person eliminated I guess was a shock--though I personally didn't care for them so much). Not saying who in case someone hasn't seen it yet...

yes, i was shocked that person left also.

who do i think will win? jonathan! who do i want to win? sandhurst!

my favorite sandhurst quote from the last episode..."i've seen horror movies, the black guy always dies first".

i'm so glad jonathan went back to blonde, but there's something about it that seems off. anyone else think so? the eyebrows, perhaps?

Well. I'm surprised at the outcome, but not disappointed.

Salome did start working out on a regular basis a couple episodes in, but you've got to remember that this show was filmed in a much tighter time frame this time than as it was aired (2-3 days of filming for every episode) and it would be hard for a person who is already pretty thin to lose two inches off her hips in that time frame, even if she's willing to throw up every day, and fortunately she was trying to be sensible about weight loss and not give herself an ED.

She apparently got recruited when a talent scout saw her working in a Starbucks, and didn't have much in the way of modeling experience compared to the other people in the house, so she wasn't quite aware that she needed to get down to 35-36 hips before she even got onto the show.

Hope she does well for herself in modeling. While she could seem whiney at times, she was never really malicous like some of the other girls were, and she seems willing to work hard. I've read a couple of comments from people in the biz that say she may not ever get down to proper runway size, but that she still has the potential to make herself and her agency a lot of money doing beauty and commercial work with the odd bit of editorial.

Jonathan was robbed! I was so mad. Ugh.

Yeah, the stuff with Salome---she said in an interview that if she could redo she'd get into shape BEFORE. And, yes they did their measurements every 3 days. So there isn't much time to change. And though we saw our episodes once a week, in reality it was every few days for them. And, she's 6 foot tall and 135 lbs! Which, after hearing that (and considering they thought her to be the fat girl in the house ) makes you wonder what Jordan weighed. She looked positively anorexic to me! : I know they loved her look, but I thought she looked like a weakling and a child--like too frail.

I can definitely see why they chose who they chose. His last shoots were just FANTASIC...as in, he nailed them. Plus he's so young...and has quite a bright future.

Jonathon, though he's only 26 looked SO much older to me. Very wrinkly. I thought he looked more like 36-38. He worked construction, so has me thinking that he didn't use sunscreen.

I agree. Maybe not that old, but definitely older than his age. The "Marlboro Man" type shot of him on the farm was his best, I thought, and part of the reason for that was that the Marlboro man type isn't supposed to look like he's 25.

The makeover, even undone, did him no favors either. They definitely didn't get his color right when they tried to fix it.
