Can I freeze mushrooms and onions in gravy?
I made salisbury steak and have too much. Not sure if this will freeze ok though and I don't want to waste it trying.

you can freeze it for up to 3 months. . .however, it will separate when you thaw it and you might have to blend it in a blender or something like that. You probably could add it to a soup though and not have any problems after you thaw it.

Sorry I wasn't very specific.
they are baked in the gravy that has mushroom and onion chunks in it.
I am wondering if I can freeze the dish as a whole and have it turn out ok.

yep, that should freeze just fine (it might even be better)

I bet it will turn out ok.

I froze a whole batch of coq au vin-type casserole (chicken, red wine gravy, onions, mushrooms, carrots) and it came out delicious.
I reheated it in a pot on the stove and just stirred now and then.

I should make some again sometime soon :

no problem with freezing that. just recook it a little when you take it out. and make sure you cover it when you put in the freezer.
