What do you think of this pool?

I was planning on getting the fishy pool, but I can't find it in any store! I know I can order online, but the frugal side of me doesn't want to pay the shipping (which, from the site I'm looking at, is ~$10 more than it is just for my birth kit).

So I saw this one at Target. Seems to be about the same ~ dimensions are 80"x22" (vs. 60"x23" for the fishy one), but I've not seen the fishy pool IRL, so I don't know for sure. I thought this one was kinda nice because it has a seat (for DH? me? not sure if we would actually use it). Any thoughts?

I got the Intex fishy pool (at amazon here), $24, which would end up being roughly the same as the one you link to here.

It was great...and I esp liked the inflatable floor, which gave added padding. Looks like the bigger pool doesn't have that (at least, it's not mentioned).

I guess the bigger one would be good if you wanted your dh in there with you, but personally I wanted my own space! It would take a LOT of water to fill an 80" pool, and might give you problems running out of hot water and keeping it warm.

Good catch on the non-padded floor...I hadn't noticed that! I went ahead and got the fishy one Now I just need to wait for the baby to make his or her entrance!

I have this pool - DS and I used it in the backyard last year. FYI, its HUGE! 80 inches is really quite big. I thought about using it as my birth pool but I don't feel comfortable bringing it in the house and the amount of water it would take to fill it up would drain our hot water tank a few times, at least. I bought one at Amazon that is 60x22. I was going to rent a birth pool from my midwife but I thought this would be cheaper and easier!

I used the Intex fishy pool and I LOVED it. Happy birthing!

I just bought that pool you linked, because I couldn't find the fishy pool anywhere here and once I paid the postage to Canada, the taxes etc, it would have been more than I was willing to pay...

We have set it up in our room to check the size and it fits okay. The difference in filled to 80% water volume is plus minus 30 gallons.

We will fill it this weekend to see how our hot water tank copes with it.... if it doesn't work out we will re-think our strategy!

So the depth of the floor is like 21" inside? Is that enough to cover the belly?

Here's a pool I found on ebay that looks like its a few dollars cheaper than the one at amazon. http://cgi.ebay.com/NIB-THE-WET-SET-...#ht_500wt_1182
