I posted here awhile back and got some great answers. I have done tons of reading on the net since then and think I have somewhat narrowed down my cloth diaper decisions.
I am due in Nov. My previous babies were big 10 and 11 lbs. I know for sure it is not possible for me to think this baby will be under 9lb. Both my boys never fit size newborn sposies. They leaked right out of the ones from the hospital. They were also 20lbs at 4 months. Therefore I don't want to waste money on newborn size diapers and covers. At the same time, I want the first few weeks of CDing to go well, so I want whatever I get to fit well and not be too big and leak. I've noticed the XS/NWB sized covers and fitted have room for the cord stump. Can you fold the next size up down, too? This is an issue for me because my other babies' cords took like 4 weeks to come off. (they say a large baby has a thicker cord and thus longer to dry out)
Right now I am thinking I will probably get mostly prefolds. Definitely going for 100% cotton with maybe some hemp, too. I would love to have some fitteds if we can afford it. Are one-size fitteds generally too bulky on newborns? I am also comtemplating getting my MIL to sew elastic in the legs and back of some prefolds. I can not sew. Is this a lot of work to ask of her? It looks easy enough if you know what you are doing...but I have no clue. I just want to contain poop!!
Wool covers seem ideal I like the idea of it being natural. Not realistic for me because of upkeep. Therefore I am leaning to fleece, but the sizing gets me and they all look high on the belly, like they would cover the cord. Again, thinking of buying the fleece and asking MIL for a favor.
I love the look of blueberry one-size coveralls, the colors are so cute, especially if I get a girl
. I can't find any reviews of them. They also are vague about their material. Is it PUL? They are kinda expensive so I would really like to know if they would hold up til the weight they go to.
Cot-n wraps covers seem really neat because they have cotton on both sides of the PUL. I think it would be really nice on a newborn, but I think I would probably have poop on the inner cotton and have to wash a lot. Any experience with these?
Thanks

so I had all these nb size dipes that just sat there it made me so sad.
I did have some BG and FB but like you I couldn't use them because his cord wouldn't fall off. I ended just having to use sposies folded down.
