Second plantings when leafy greens are done?

I'm in zone 5. When my spinach and lettuce and other leafy greens are done and it's getting hot, is there anything I can plant in their spots? I know I can do a second planting of kale (do I plant seeds in June? July?).... Are there other things I can do also?

try brussel sprouts. you can even start them from seed at this time. they taste better if they go through a light frost before harvest so if you plant now they will be ready when the weather is getting cold :

You can swap out with beans, they start well from seed even in June or July and there are versions with short maturity. Once they're done you can then plant another wave of greens with short maturity in the fall.
