An associate came up and asked her if she was almost done. I told her I would have said, "Why, are you hungry?"
Oh, my goodness. That's a good one. I am laughing so hard!
:LOL I'll have to remember that one.

She said she was in the checkout line "when a store employee came up to" her and asked her to cover up, so it sounds like it wasn't the cashier who did it. I used to be a Wal-Mart cashier. Please don't get the person who checked you out in trouble if it wasn't the person who checked you out who asked you to cover up.

The employee was actually a manager. WB2 news has interviewed me about the story and will be covering the nurse in. You can catch my interview tonight at 9pm in colorado.

HI, I'm new here and thought I'd show a little support where it is needed. I will be "rallying" the troops. Let's all help this mother and make this a national thing. I will be at the Danville, IL Wal Mart at 1:30 PM CDT on 01/31!

Any suggestions as where to nurse at? In the baby department? Layaway? In the front by the registers?

caynasmom, good luck with the nurse in! I saw you on cnn , your litttle girl is beautiful. I'm so sorry walmart did that to you. I wouldn't pee in a walmart bathroom never mind feed my kid there, they usually have icky bathrooms, I can't believe they suggested it!

5 years ago Wal-Mart got into deep sh*t for this issue, harrassing a nursing mother in an Ohio Wal-Mart. Thousands of people wrote to their corporate offices (I was one of them!) threatening to boycott. That's why their official policy *IS* that nursing is fine anywhere, and it's the mom's right.

But send those letters and threaten to boycott! Off to write one!

Well, I have emailed them 4 times and I called the store twice. Each time I ask what is being done about it, I get hung up on. Well, the first lady told me to hold and then I heard a dial tone. When I called back I got a different lady and she said that the store is not commenting on it. I hope that the manager publicly apologizes!! I wish I could have seen the news report!

****Way to support yourself and fellow breastfeeders caynasmom!!! Thank you!!

Much love from WA state!!

Caynasmom----- Could you tell me what teh manager looked like?

Dh's aunt and cousin both work at that store! They are both idiots and it would be something they would say. I think I will email them and ask them about the situation.....

anyways, good job on getting the situation covered in the news adn for standing up for nursing moms everywhere!!!
