I have a 12 week old whom I have been wearing pretty much all the time. I started out in a Bjorn, but after some good advice on this forum, I switched to a mei tei, which I love. My question has to do with naps/sleep. My baby will NOT sleep anywhere for any length of time unless I wear her. If I put her down to sleep, she'll last 30minutes tops. If I am wearing her, she'll sleep a good 2 hours. I don't mind this ... but I have to go back to work part time in 2 weeks (I work 2 days a week). I am worried about what my care giver will do! Will she ever get better sleeping on her own? Will she always want to be held/worn? What do you mommies do? Do you always wear your babies for their naps? As she gets heavier, I think even I won't be able to keep it up!

I could have written your post two years ago. It turned out fine for us.
At about 4 months she was suddenly able to sleep a little more without being worn, and by 7 months she was an A+ crib sleeper. We ended up using the No Cry Sleep Solution techinques to help her along gently, but a lot of it I think was just time - she wasn't ready to sleep alone yet until then. By 6 months or so she strongly preferred to be put down to sleep rather than be worn - I couldn't believe it - I was worried I'd be wearing her for naps at age 3.
My caregivers just rocked with her in the rocking chair for naps until she was ready to nap on her own after I went back to work.
